Massage
Remedial Deep Tissue Massage, aimed at areas of tension, strain and scarred tissue in your body. Combined with Lisa's knowledge of acupressure and alignment techniques to attain a more effective treatment for pain, injury and postural issues.

Cupping
A traditional technique used in Chinese medicine also found in many cultures of the world. According to TCM It has mulitiple applications depending on the issue being treated. It can free stuck blood, loosen muscles, treat pain, coughs and colds, drain heat, cold and fluids, move lymph, clear phlegm.
Normally used as part of a treatment and according to diagnosis, and only if the patient is comfortable with this treatment. When used strongly it produces the purple round marks that many modern sports men and women are seen with, in recent years, which are a sign both of stale stuck blood and that the treatment is clearing this.
Subsequent treatments, cause less dark marking, until the skin is clear when cupped, showing the blockage is removed. Gua Sha
Gua Sha, is used for pain, tone, to clear heat or cold, to treat colds and flu, move stuck blood and clear toxins.Used as part of a treatment where appropriate.
Gua means to scrape, and sha means the speckled rash, which is the rash commonly produced with the painless scraping of a smooth tool across the skin where there are problems. The sha only appears if there is a problem of stuck blood, heat or cold, healthy tissue will simply turn light red with increased circulation.
Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a time tested medicine of over 3000 yrs. Used widely throughout Asia, traditionally and within specialist TCM hospitals. The proven effectiveness of TCM has seen it's use spread around the world.
Acupuncture uses fine needles inserted in carefully chosen points along the channels of the body known as meridians, to free and harmonise the bodies energy and health. Cranial & Bodywork
A very gentle deeply relaxing treatment, that has profound effect on the postural alignment of the body. Calming and restorative to the nervous system, mind, emotions and internal organ function.
Gentle support applied to the bones of the head allow them to rebalance and find homeostasis, having an effect on whole body alignment via the dura, fascia and an effect on the nervous and endorcrine sytems by relief of physical restriction and the restoring of normal secodary respiration.
This technique applied to the joints of the body allow a gentle, natural joint release, suitable for frail patients, and those who do not like forceful adjustments. It proveds gentle recovery post partum for mother and baby. Learn more here.
Cosmetic Acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture is adminstered locally at problem areas of lines or loss of tone, lack of circulation, combined with a TCM diagnosis and treatment with points on the body, to address imbalances in your system, that effect your general health and the condition of your skin.
Herbs
Chinese Medicine used traditionally and within TCM Hospitals throughout China, Japan and Korea. Its use has over 3000 yrs of recorded history, and today its use has spread to many western countries, its efficacy backed by both empirical and scientific research.
A full diagnosis is done before a herbal formula to suit your pattern and symptoms is chosen. Herbs are in the form of pre decocted granules, easily prepared by adding boiling water.

Moxa
Moxibustion is the burning of the processed herb Artemesia vulgaris, over spcefic points or areas of the body, to warm, strenghten, relieve pain and dry dampness.
The floss from the leaves is processed into loose punk or pressed into cigars or sticks to be used either on the body directly, on needles as warm needle, or held over the body indirectly. It has a gentle pleasant warmth, that boosts energy and relieves pain quickly.

Conditions Helped
Many ailments, pain and health problems can be helped by the above therapies, but some conditions are better helped than others with each therapy.
In general muscular and joint problems respond well to massage, bodywork and acupuncture, with its adjunctive therapies, but sometimes even physical ailments require herbal medicine.
Acpuncture and herbal medicine, have a much broader scope than physical medicine, and have been used historically to treat, gynaecology, digestive and bowel problems, skin problems, respiratory problems, vision, migraine, pregnancy and childbirth and post partum care. Anxiety, depression, insomnia, lethargy and hyperactivity, fertility issues, the list is long. Acupuncture is said to be able to cure most diseases and help those it can't cure. Herbal medicine can act where acupuncture is not enough to restore the bodies depletion, and regeneration.
